February of 2016 The "Georgia Peach" got the opportunity to share her acting talents on stage and film. Being inspired to enhance her stage performances, Avana decided to attend an acting workshop. It lead to her big screen experience. The instructor (Ms. Michelle Boykin) felt that Avana had what it took to be on the big screen, and CASTED her the 2nd day of the workshop in a SHELTER Insurance commercial that would film that day as the lead actress that would air at the 5th annual LAS VEGAS BLACK FILM FESTIVAL on the BIG SCREEN right before the premier MOVIE ! The following year she was chosen as an extra cast member just to get the experience. The founder of the LVBFF was so impressed with Avana's performance, she earned her way to playing characters with a speaking role, Starring as a supporting lead character (Sistah Beautee") in Ms.Michelle's "Is That Man Your Husband....Or Is He Mine"? which was followed up with her acting role in the film, with the same title. That performance earned Avana more 'Big Screen" opportunities. In 2019, she played a supporting lead role in the movie 'CRYSTAL', and coming April, 2020, she has gotten her first LEAD ROLE in the new hit movie "EMERGE".

Avana has given stellar performances as opening act for Ray Charles, Al Green, Ollie Woodson (formerly of The Temptations), Rose Royce, and has been a duet partner for R&B legend Michael Henderson as well as been a background vocalist for Billy Paul. Along with performing with the Best in the music industry, Avana received her highest accolade to date a, 'GOLD ALBUM' for singing on R&B legendary group " CAMEO" for her contributions on the 'Alligator Woman" lp'.
